Finally Engaged!!!

Sunday was a very exciting day for all of us. My cousin Rob and my friend Ann got engaged at last after 9 years of dating. There's a lot to learn from this relationship... How they survived this 9 years and how they still love hanging around with each other every minute.

It was a beautiful private ceremony with both the families and close relatives present at Rob's place. The ceremony began with my dad giving a brief about the couple, followed by short speeches from Ann's dad and Ann... Ann was pretty brief with her words. She thanked both the families and friends gathered for their support all this while. Rob was too shy so he just nodded his head in agreement with whatever Ann said.

The couple looked very dashing in their attire for the day. Ann wore a nice maroon saree with golden embroidery while Rob wore a greenish sherwani. I the unofficial best man wore a blue shirt with blue jeans... (I know I was pretty casual for the occasion) Ryan, Ann's brother wore a blue sherwani and blue jeans. and my bro was in black formal shirt and trousers.

Mumbai Drowning...

Yesterday... was a terrible day. It poured like the heavens had opened up its gates of shower. Felt like it would never stop. Mumbai feared an other 7/26 into making...

I was pretty much safe in my office and was not really affected by it... but here are some of the pics that I could manage to get of the day... Keeping the floods aside... it was surely a very romantic moment for the lovers... but Damn me... I'm still single... So I had a great time at my IT Meeting held in the office... was a fruitful day...

How to Update NOD32 Virus Definition Manually...

Hello Guys...
This was one of the most quested out query I found on most of the blogs - How to update the NOD32 Virus Definition manually? Its quite a valid question as it saves the time of download on each workstation and also doesn't choke up the bandwidth. And I have found the most easiest way of doing this job.

Just follow these simple steps:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\ESET\updfiles
2. Copy the entire files from here.
3. Dump it into the exact location in the new workstation where you want the definition to be updated.

I know it sounds crazy but surprisingly it works. Unlike Symantec or Norton AV the updates are not on a DAT file. Here it is on a .nup file.

So guys I hope this has helped you guys to solve your little update problem... ;)

Love your neighbour as yourself

This is a very beautiful article posted by my friend Samy Joanes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

'It is not a punch line, it is a way of life.'

Love is one of the most discussed and debated subjects in the world – probably just as much as religion. There is so much conflict with this one word and the notion attached to it, that when we use the word we will only relate a man and a woman in love.

In the Bible, Jesus Christ states the second greatest commandment to love your neighbour as you love yourself. The commandment has got less to do with religion and more to do with our relationship with our immediate neighbour. Let us break this down into a much more simpler context for those to whom this will be difficult to comprehend. The first aspect is to think about all the things in life that you would not want anyone to do to yourself. After you do that, decide to follow the same principle and avoid the same things with others while dealing with them. Then there’s a second aspect to the same commandment – and this is where it gets tricky. Think of all the things that you would want for yourself, and then give the same in its completeness to your neighbour – regardless of who it is. This should not conflict with the first aspect in any way and if you know how to do that, then you have certainly understood it. Understanding and preaching this is easy. Now try living like this. Love has got no limits, reasons, explanations or meaning. It also needs to be done regardless of cast, creed, colour or position. It should just happen – unconditionally.

Let’s stop using love as a punch line and start working on it no matter what. You may not realize this today, but your neighbour needs this more than you think.

Terrible Mumbai Rains...

So I woke up this morning... and there was a terrible rain. Checked my watch... and woah.. its 8.30am. I have to reach work at 9.30am. But I don't know why what went over me... I pulled my sheet over and got back to sleep. Until I realized I have to be at work in the next 45 mins...

I got up and began to read the newspaper... with the rains pouring like the sound of 1000 horses galloping around me. I was so hoping that my boss would call me up and tell me the office is closed due to rains and to stay at home... but I guess things dont work as you intend to all the time. So I began to get dressed up for work and left home with an umbrella... (cos the windsheaters wont really be of help in the Mumbai rains)

I realized sometimes to be too popular isnt that good. Every Auto rickshaw driver in my area know where I work. I thought it was a boon to me as I didnt have to tell them where I needed to go. They knew exactly where I wanted to alight. But this fateful day, all the rick drivers would see me from a distance and avoid me. So it was pretty aweful day for me.. I had to walk all the way to work today.

And I reached office by 10.00 am. There was no one at work. I was pretty happy... I wasnt caught coming in late. But guess what... My boss was there. and he had been expecting me since 9.30am. But he was pretty cool and didnt tell me anything about being late.

Today things are different at my work place. everyone walked in late and wet... and nobody feels like working... so do I... why do you think I took this time to blog it out... he he he :D
